Shoonya Triumph: India's Zero Pollution Mobility Success
The Shoonya campaign, launched in 2021, has made significant strides in reducing pollution and saving fuel worth Rs 597 crore, according to the Indian government. This initiative, which includes over 200 corporate partners, has completed millions of electric vehicle rides and aims to expand further.

The Shoonya campaign, aimed at promoting zero pollution mobility, has been remarkably successful since its inception in 2021. According to the government, it has achieved a substantive reduction in pollution and fuel savings up to Rs 597 crore.
Responding to queries in the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister for Planning Rao Inderjit Singh revealed efforts are underway to further extend the campaign's reach by including more electric vehicles beyond just delivery systems and ride-hailing services.
To date, more than 200 corporate partners have participated, completing approximately 574 million electric vehicle rides and deliveries. The campaign has cut particulate matter pollution by 11.5 tonnes and reduced Carbon Dioxide pollution by around 61,000 tonnes, equating to planting 1.1 million trees.
