Flash Floods Devastate Himachal Pradesh: Death Toll Rises to 14, Dozens Missing

Flash floods caused by cloudbursts in Himachal Pradesh have led to 14 deaths and many are still missing. Rescue operations are ongoing with efforts from various agencies. The state has faced significant losses due to monsoon rains, with a total of 87 deaths reported in rain-related incidents.

Flash floods triggered by cloudbursts in Himachal Pradesh's three districts have claimed 14 lives, while around 40 people remain unaccounted for, according to officials.

A series of cloudbursts wreaked havoc in Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla districts, with Samej village bearing the brunt as over 30 people are missing there. Eight bodies were recovered from Mandi, five from Shimla, and one from Kullu. DNA samples have been taken from 37 relatives of the missing persons for identification purposes.

A massive rescue operation involving 410 personnel from the Army, NDRF, SDRF, and other agencies is underway. The state's monsoon-related losses have reached Rs 684 crore, with 87 fatalities reported so far.
