Tropical Storm Debby has weakened below hurricane intensity as it moves over northern Florida, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center. Currently located 120 miles south of Valdosta, Georgia, Debby maintains maximum sustained winds of 70 mph.

Tropical Storm Debby has moved over northern Florida, gradually weakening below hurricane intensity, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported on Monday.

As of now, Tropical Storm Debby is positioned approximately 120 miles (190 km) south of Valdosta, Georgia, with maximum sustained winds reaching 70 mph (110 km/h), the NHC added.

The storm's weakening trend is expected to continue, reducing its impact as it progresses further inland, meteorologists advise.
