Another Blaze at Delhi's Wazirabad Impound Yard: 150 Vehicles Destroyed

A fire engulfed 150 vehicles at the Wazirabad impound yard in northeast Delhi, marking the second incident in a week. The Delhi Fire Services controlled the blaze with 12 fire tenders after a two-and-a-half-hour effort. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause.

A fire engulfed approximately 150 vehicles at the police's Wazirabad impound yard in northeast Delhi on Thursday. This marks the second blaze at the facility within a week.

Delhi Fire Services (DFS) officials stated that they received an emergency call at around 5:15 am regarding a bush fire near the yard. By 5:45 am, the fire had spread to the impounded vehicles. Around 12 fire tenders were deployed, successfully controlling the blaze after a two-and-a-half-hour operation.

A police officer confirmed that around 150 vehicles, mainly two-wheelers, were destroyed. This follows a similar incident on August 2, when 125 vehicles were gutted. The cause remains unknown, but suspicions are pointing towards people loitering around the dense, bushy area surrounding the yard. An investigation has been launched, and a case has been registered against unknown individuals.
