Green Tribunal Orders Probe into Acid Attack on West Delhi Tree

The directive came as the tribunal heard a letter petition claiming that a tree in Jawahar Camp of Kirti Nagar had been illegally burned by pouring acid on it.

A bench led by NGT Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava emphasized the need to first address the complaint locally. If the allegations hold, appropriate remedial and punitive actions are to follow, as directed by the bench, including Judicial Member Justice Arun Kumar Tyagi and Expert Member A Senthil Vel.

The investigation is to be conducted swiftly to determine the validity of the claims.
