Major Expansion Announced for Baprola Industrial Park

Lt Governor VK Saxena has approved the expansion of the Baprola Industrial Park in southwest Delhi from 22.34 hectares to 54.89 hectares. This decision aims to develop regulated and eco-friendly industrial infrastructure, reducing the proliferation of illegal industrial units and promoting growth within the capital.

Lt Governor VK Saxena has given the green light for a significant expansion of the Baprola Industrial Park, located in southwest Delhi. The industrial area will now encompass 54.89 hectares, up from the previously approved 22.34 hectares, according to a statement from Raj Niwas.

Proper industrial infrastructure in designated areas prevents the spread of illegal industrial units in residential and commercial zones, which often lead to accidents and unregulated pollution, LG Saxena emphasized in a note. The expanded industrial park will be developed under the Delhi Industrial Development, Operation and Maintenance (DIDOM) Act, 2010.

The land re-notification is subject to maintaining the land uses outlined in the December 2013 layout plan by the Ministry of Urban Development (now MoHUA). This development is set to drive organized industrial growth in Delhi, favoring green and eco-friendly industries over their relocation to neighboring states like UP and Haryana, the note added.
