A massive landslide at the Kaithlighat-Dhalli stretch of the Kalka-Shimla four-lane project has prompted Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap to order a magisterial probe into the incident, officials confirmed on Thursday.
Occurred on Tuesday, the landslide disrupted construction work by collapsing a portion of an under-construction tunnel near Shimla. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
Investigation by Additional District Magistrate (Law & Order) Ajit Bhardwaj aims to identify the cause, whether it was due to negligence or a natural event. Findings will be submitted within two weeks.
