Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday celebrated the Union Cabinet's decisions to advance metro projects in Bengaluru, Thane, and Pune, along with airport expansions in Bagdogra and Bihta. Shah emphasized that these initiatives will elevate the tourism, financial, and educational significance of these regions.

Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for an enhanced economy, Shah noted the approval of three major metro rail projects in Bengaluru, Thane, and Pune. 'The Bengaluru metro rail project will significantly boost the city's financial strength, while the Thane and Pune metro projects will augment their standing as tourism and educational centers,' he stated.

Shah also expressed his gratitude toward the prime minister for sanctioning two airport development projects in West Bengal and Bihar. The new civil enclave projects in Bagdogra and Bihta are expected to fill vital gaps in tourist circuits, thereby aiding the tourism industry and creating job opportunities.

The Union Cabinet's decisions include the expansion of metro rail projects in Pune and Thane, Maharashtra, and in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Additionally, a new civil enclave at Bagdogra airport will be constructed at a cost of Rs 1,549 crore, alongside another at Bihta for Rs 1,413 crore.
