In Gujarat, rain-related incidents have claimed 26 lives over a span of three days, while about 17,800 people have been evacuated from flood-hit areas. Heavy rains have continued to lash parts of the state, affecting several districts as rescue operations intensify.
On Wednesday, districts in the Saurashtra region experienced significant rainfall, with Devbhumi Dwarka's Bhanvad taluka receiving the highest. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel of the Centre's support in handling the crisis.
As floodwater begins to recede, authorities have been directed to deploy cleaning equipment in Vadodara, one of the worst-hit areas. Rail services have been disrupted, with numerous trains canceled or diverted due to flooded tracks and roads.
