Cyclone Asna, which formed over the Kutch coast in Gujarat earlier in the day, shifted into the Arabian Sea and is now charting a course towards Oman, officials confirmed on Friday evening.
To ensure safety, the local administration relocated nearly 3,500 individuals to more secure areas and advised residents in huts and mud houses to seek refuge in sturdier buildings, Kutch district collector Amit Arora informed.
'Since the cyclone has entered the sea and is moving towards Oman, its impact on the coast was minimal,' said Arora. 'Aside from some rain and strong winds, there were no significant effects, and no injuries, fatalities, or major structural damages were reported.'
