Villagers Defend Against Jackal Attack

In a startling turn of events on Tuesday, a jackal entered Bilpur village and attacked six residents, including a woman, officials reported. The animal was eventually killed by villagers after causing multiple injuries.
The incident unfolded within the precincts of Jalalpur police station area. Following the jackal's aggression, local residents surrounded the creature and beat it to death with sticks. The injured were swiftly transported to the hospital where their condition is reported to be stable.
Divisional Forest Officer Anil Srivastav suggested that the jackal may have lashed out in fear or self-defense. A forest department team has been deployed to investigate the episode and provide a detailed report. Meanwhile, Jalalpur police station in-charge Umashankar disclosed that no formal report has yet been filed regarding the jackal attack. Notably, the Bundelkhand area is known for its significant jackal population.
