This attack is the second in two days, as locals grapple with increasing wildlife threats. Divisional Forest Officer RS Yadav revealed that the animal struck a three-year-old child and an adult male in the Newari village before moving on to assault another person in Khojpur village. The villagers eventually surrounded and killed the jackal.

A post-mortem confirmed the animal was indeed a jackal. Similar incidents have increased fears among the residents, prompting Uttar Pradesh Forest Minister Arun Saxena to order the capture of the attacking animals. The government has now classified the affected area as a 'wildlife disaster' zone.
