Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang took to social media, paying tribute to those affected while commending the resilience of survivors. He acknowledged the unwavering support from various agencies, including the central government and the Indian Army.
The tragic incident occurred when the Lhonak Lake burst, flooding the Teesta River and impacting four districts. With damages surpassing Rs 10,000 crore, the Centre provided substantial financial aid to aid reconstruction efforts.
