Tragic Collision in Rajasthan Claims 12 Lives

A harrowing road accident in Rajasthan's Dholpur district has claimed the lives of 12 family members, including eight innocent children, after a bus collided with a tempo on Saturday night.

According to Bari SHO Shivlahari Meena, the tragedy unfolded near Sumipur as a sleeper coach bus, traveling at high speed from Gwalior to Jaipur, crashed into the smaller vehicle. The victims, all residents of Kareem Gumvat colony, were returning from a wedding in Barauli village. The deceased have been identified as Irfan alias Bunty (38), his wife Julie (34), their children Asma (14) and Salman (8), as well as Parveen (32), Zareena (35), Saqir (6), Sanif (9), Ajaan (5), Aashiyaana (10), Sufi (7), and Danish (10).

Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Hari Kishan confirmed that eleven individuals were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital, with the 12th victim succumbing shortly after. Expressing sorrow, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia compensation of Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund for the families of the deceased, and Rs 50,000 for the injured. In response to the heart-wrenching tragedy, leaders, including Governor Haribhau Bagade and Chief Minister Bhajanalal Sharma, conveyed their condolences and urged officials to ensure proper medical care for survivors.
