Heavy rains have lashed Bengaluru over the past two days, disrupting normal life and causing waterlogging in several low-lying areas and roads.

As a result of the incessant downpour, Jagadish G, the Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner, ordered the closure of schools and Anganwadi centres on Monday.

This marks the second time in a week that schools have been closed due to rains in Bengaluru, as residents and commuters grapple with flooded roads and fallen trees. The Indian Meteorology Department has issued an orange alert for Bengaluru, warning of moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers accompanied by lightning.
