A tragic explosion in Palwal, Haryana, on Tuesday led to the death of one person and injured three others, according to officials. The incident was sparked by a gas pipeline leak near Lala Lajpat Rai Park on Old GT Road.
A government JCB was repairing a water pipeline when the explosion occurred, triggering a stampede and causing extensive damage. Several shops, including a three-story building, were engulfed in flames, and numerous vehicles, such as a JCB, were destroyed. The financial loss is estimated to be in crores.
Police and district officials quickly responded to manage the crowd. The fire took four brigade vehicles two hours to subdue. Investigations are underway to pinpoint the cause of the incident.
