Puravankara's Green Initiative: Pledging 1 Million Trees for a Sustainable Future
Puravankara Limited pledges to plant 1 million trees in Bengaluru by 2030 as part of the World Economic Forum’s 1t.org initiative, aimed at increasing biodiversity and mitigating climate change. This initiative involves planting native tree species to ensure survival, contributing significantly to local ecosystems and community welfare.
Puravankara Limited, one of India's prominent real estate developers, has committed to planting 1 million trees in and around Bengaluru by 2030. This initiative aligns with the World Economic Forum's Trillion Tree Movement, aiming to strengthen biodiversity and combat climate change.
The project focuses on sustainable development by prioritizing native tree species, ensuring these plants thrive in the local ecosystem. This effort is expected to absorb around 25 million kg of carbon annually, providing essential environmental services such as pollination, water conservation, and soil preservation.
Puravankara's Managing Director, Ashish Puravankara, emphasized the company's commitment to sustainability beyond real estate. Their venture into nature restoration marks a significant contribution to the global movement for a greener future. With 55,000 trees already planted, Puravankara plans to scale up their efforts until they meet their goal by 2030.
