On Saturday, an MoU was signed between the Himachal Pradesh Rural Development Department and UltraTech Cement Ltd to tackle the significant issue of non-recyclable plastic waste management in the state.

The partnership will see UltraTech Cement Ltd collaborating with the department to process plastic waste using its cement kiln at Baga in Solan district. This method is in line with environmentally sustainable waste disposal techniques, contributing to Himachal Pradesh's ecological balance.

This initiative emphasizes a shared commitment to sustainable waste management, leveraging UltraTech's technology to minimize environmental pollution and reduce landfill dependency. Currently, waste from 29 operational units will be sent to UltraTech for co-processing, aligning with the state's vision of maintaining a clean and green environment.
