The country's first regional rapid transit system, alongside a newly inaugurated 12-lane expressway, marks significant progress. The Ganga Expressway project from Meerut to Prayagraj nears completion, with plans to extend it further into Uttarakhand.
In a sports sector boost, Meerut will host the state's first sports university, named after hockey legend Dhyan Chand. Scheduled to open in 2025, the university promises to enhance the region's educational infrastructure.
