MCD Clears Public Roads in Major Anti-Encroachment Drive
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) cleared 112 km of public roads in a large-scale anti-encroachment drive. They dismantled unauthorized structures and collected fines from violators. Several busy roads were cleared, and the MCD plans to continue monitoring to maintain obstruction-free public spaces.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has successfully cleared 112 kilometers of public roads across the City SP zone in a comprehensive anti-encroachment drive, according to a statement released on Wednesday.
The MCD dismantled unauthorized structures such as jhuggies and temporary counters, seizing 610 items and collecting Rs 19,100 in fines from violators. Key areas like Neeli Chhatri Mandir and Rani Jhansi Road were targeted in the operation, which ran from March 1 to March 24.
This joint initiative by the general branch and building and maintenance departments resulted in the clearing of several congested roads, improving accessibility. The MCD urged public cooperation to ensure clean and obstruction-free roads. Regular follow-up actions are planned to prevent re-encroachment.
