Tragedy Strikes: Woman Killed in Bandipur Tiger Attack

A 32-year-old woman named Puttamma was killed in a tiger attack near Omkar range in Chamarajanagara district, Bandipur Tiger Reserve. The incident occurred as she was herding cattle. Officials initiated a combing operation and installed camera traps to identify the tiger involved.

A tragic incident unfolded near the Omkar range in the Chamarajanagara district within Bandipur Tiger Reserve limits, where a 32-year-old woman was fatally attacked by a tiger.

The victim, identified as Puttamma from Gundlupet taluk, was herding cattle on Thursday afternoon when a tiger attacked and dragged her for 100 meters.

Forest officials promptly responded, recovering her body and launching a combing operation to find the tiger, while camera traps have been set to monitor tiger movements.
