In Kolar, Karnataka, a significant water revolution is quietly underway. Inspired by spiritual leader Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the Kolar Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) Project is targeting one of India's pressing environmental concerns: groundwater depletion.
A collaboration between The Art of Living Social Projects and Ashirwad by Aliaxis, this initiative emphasizes scientific site identification, strategic construction of recharge structures, and vital community education. By involving locals in the water regeneration process, the project has provided renewed hope and empowerment to Kolar's residents.
Spanning from April 2024 to March 2025, the project has constructed numerous Boulder Check and Recharge Wells, reaching over 10,000 people. As a transformative model, Kolar's endeavor sets a benchmark for addressing water scarcity through a blend of scientific precision and collective spirit.
