A tragic explosion at a firecracker manufacturing factory in Sivakasi resulted in the deaths of at least five workers, including two women, authorities confirmed. The devastating blast also left numerous others injured.
The blaze, triggered by the explosion, could be seen from miles away as it consumed the factory. Emergency services were quick to respond, transporting the injured to nearby hospitals while working to extinguish the flames.
Investigators from both the fire and rescue services, as well as local revenue officials, are currently on site to probe the cause of the incident in an effort to prevent future occurrences.
