Severe waterlogging and traffic snarls threw Delhi into chaos on Wednesday as heavy rains swept across the city, with further downpours anticipated throughout the day.
Numerous areas found roads submerged in knee-deep water, trapping vehicles and forcing residents to navigate through the deluge. Social media posts revealed rainwater flooding schools, creating waterlogged classrooms.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts more showers, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30–40 kmph), with parts of Delhi under orange and yellow alerts. These alerts indicate "be prepared" and "be aware" statuses, respectively.
