Tragic Thunderstorms: Lightning Strikes Kill 13 in West Bengal
At least 13 people have been killed and several injured due to lightning strikes across West Bengal's Bankura and Purba Bardhaman districts. In a tragic series of events, lightning strikes claimed the lives of 13 individuals across West Bengal's Bankura and Purba Bardhaman districts on Thursday.
Bankura Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Tiwari reported eight fatalities in various parts of the district during thunderstorms, including four in Onda and one each in Kotulpur, Joypur, Patrasayer, and Indas.
Meanwhile, a Disaster Management official confirmed five deaths and four injuries in Purba Bardhaman, with deaths occurring in Madhabdihi, Ausgram, Mangalkot, and Raina. The injured are receiving medical attention at local hospitals.
