Rain Havoc: Northern Indian States Hit By Severe Floods and Landslides

Severe rainfall has caused widespread destruction across northern India, with several deaths reported in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh saw three more fatalities when their vehicle plunged into a gorge following treacherous conditions on wet roadways. In addition, significant flooding has plagued 13 districts in Uttar Pradesh, where major rivers like the Ganga and Yamuna have risen above danger levels.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma surveyed flood-affected regions, asserting the urgency of timely relief efforts. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh has faced significant road closures and landslides, with hundreds of roads shut down, as an 'orange' weather warning remains in effect for imminent heavy rainfall.
