Intense rainfall has unleashed chaos across northern India, leading to fatal incidents and widespread flooding. In Uttarakhand, three individuals have tragically drowned, with another person swept away by strong currents from the Bhakhra stream.
Himachal Pradesh saw three more fatalities when their vehicle plunged into a gorge following treacherous conditions on wet roadways. In addition, significant flooding has plagued 13 districts in Uttar Pradesh, where major rivers like the Ganga and Yamuna have risen above danger levels.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma surveyed flood-affected regions, asserting the urgency of timely relief efforts. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh has faced significant road closures and landslides, with hundreds of roads shut down, as an 'orange' weather warning remains in effect for imminent heavy rainfall.
