The Delhi government is on a mission to spread joy among children in underprivileged zones by installing swings, slides, and other playground equipment. The initiative aims to renovate parks and shishu vatikas within slum settlements throughout the city. The Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) has issued tenders for these installations, showing commitment to creating vibrant play areas.

Various Juggi-Jhopri Clusters (JJCs), including Idgah Road near Sadar Bazar, Goyala Dairy, Shakur Basti, and Jafrabad, will see substantial improvements. Each site has its own budget, ranging from Rs 8.24 lakh to Rs 9.26 lakh, with an expected completion timeline of 90 days, according to the tenders.

In addition to standard playground structures, the newly installed infrastructure will feature exercise tools and complex play items. An official spokesperson stated that the primary goal is to ensure children have access to safe and enjoyable recreational facilities, while further upgrading of other JJCs is on the agenda.
