Devastation in Dehradun: Uttarakhand Faces Torrential Downpour Tragedy

The state of Uttarakhand was hit by tragic cloudbursts and relentless overnight rains, wreaking havoc across Dehradun and other regions. The catastrophic events led to 15 fatalities and numerous missing persons, with hundreds stranded in different parts of the hill state.
Major rivers overflowed, submerging landmarks including the Tapkeshwar Temple. The Uttarakhand Disaster Management Authority reported 13 deaths in Dehradun alone. As local authorities, including NDRF and SDRF, comb the areas for missing persons, ongoing rescue operations have so far ensured the safety of 900 individuals.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami provided reassurances of government support, briefing national leaders on the situation and overseeing operations aimed at restoring normalcy with essential supplies and relief camps.
