Mudslides Wreak Havoc in Southern California Communities
Heavy rain triggered mudslides and flooding in southern California, severely impacting roads and communities. Forest Falls, Oak Glen, and Potato Canyon were among the places hardest hit. Emergency crews worked to assess and address the needs of stranded individuals as roads remained closed.
Heavy rains have unleashed devastating mudslides across several southern California communities, including Forest Falls, Oak Glen, and Potato Canyon. The mudslides have resulted in blocked roads, damaged homes, and trapped drivers across San Bernardino County.
Emergency crews have been dispatched to assess the situation, particularly on state Route 38 near Jenks Lake, where about 10 people in six vehicles were stranded. Despite the isolation due to debris, all individuals are reported safe as officials continue to evaluate their needs.
The National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings, contributing to a sense of urgency. With roads still closed and no reports of injuries as of Friday morning, Southern California remains on high alert, awaiting further announcements from local authorities.
