Forging the Future: CSIR-NML and MECL Partner for Mineral Innovation

CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory and Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited have signed an agreement to advance mineral research. The collaboration will focus on enhancing quality, sustainability, and innovation. It will support critical mineral research, beneficiation, and metal extraction while promoting knowledge exchange and joint training efforts.

CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML) and Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL) have entered into a partnership to propel advancements in mineral research. This agreement, confirmed on Wednesday, aims to enhance the quality, sustainability, and innovation within the mineral sector.

This strategic collaboration targets critical mineral research, focusing on areas like mineral beneficiation, metal extraction, and technical gap assessment. It further provides analytical and implementation support, aligning with the broader vision of sustainable and self-reliant mineral development set by the Centre.

The joint initiative encourages the exchange of knowledge and facilitates joint research and training under the Centre of Excellence in Critical Minerals and Metals. The MoU, strengthened with the presence of key figures such as MECL CMD Indra Dev Narayan and CSIR-NML Director Sandip Ghosh Chowdhury, was signed on Tuesday.
