The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar have taken a significant step toward innovative research, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that underscores their commitment to collaborative scientific endeavors, an official remarked.

The MoU, signed on October 17 between the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) of ISRO and IIT Bhubaneswar, was officially announced on Friday. This partnership is poised to explore the intricate dynamics of physical and biogeochemical processes and shoreline changes in the western Bay of Bengal.

In its pilot phase, the project will focus on comprehensively mapping and analyzing the nearshore dynamics from the Sundarbans delta stretching to northern Andhra Pradesh, with plans to extend the study to additional coastal regions across India.
