Tragedy Strikes: Elephant Attack Claims Young Life

A tragic incident unfolded near Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, as a wild elephant attacked a family traveling through Kaluwala forest. The victim, a 12-year-old boy named Kunal Thakur, was with his parents when the elephant intercepted their scooter journey.
Thana Forest Range Officer Natthi Lal Doval reported that the elephant used its trunk to lift Kunal, who was seated between his parents. The animal then hurled him to the ground repeatedly.
Efforts to save the boy were in vain, as he was declared dead after being rushed to Jolly Grant Hospital. This heartbreaking event underscores the challenges of human-wildlife interactions in the region.
