The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, has greenlit the second phase of land pooling for the greenfield capital, Amaravati. This phase involves pooling 16,666 acres from seven villages, aiming to enhance key infrastructure and address economic and social concerns.

Information and Public Relations Minister K Parthasarathy confirmed the Cabinet's decision, emphasizing that the land pooling, under Section 55(2) of the APCRDA Act, aims to bolster financial conditions by facilitating development in the capital region. The Cabinet also sanctioned a Rs 5,000-crore inter-corporate loan for paddy procurement, sourced from the NCDC via APMARKFED.

In addition, new regulations were approved for urban local bodies concerning advertisement placements, requiring permits for uni-poles and billboards. The Cabinet also sanctioned a Rs 3,762-crore loan for DISCOMs from NABARD to support solar power installations under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
