A devastating road accident in Arunachal Pradesh's remote Anjaw district has resulted in the deaths of at least 14 laborers from Assam's Tinsukia district, with seven others still unaccounted for. The tragedy occurred when the truck carrying the workers veered off the Hayuliang-Chaglagam Road and plummeted into a gorge.
Local officials confirmed that rescue teams have so far recovered 14 bodies, while efforts to locate the remaining missing individuals continue. Among the 22 laborers on board, only one person was found alive, and rescue operations are ongoing.
The laborers, primarily from Gillapukri Tea Estate in Assam, were en route for a construction project. Communication remains challenging in the remote area, complicating rescue and recovery efforts, but officials remain hopeful of retrieving all missing laborers safely.
