A Ukrainian drone attack on a tanker in the southern Russian port city of Rostov-on-Don resulted in casualties and ignited a fire, according to local authorities. Emergency teams have successfully contained the blaze on the vessel, which was docked at the time of the strike.
Local Russian news agencies reported that there was no oil spill despite the direct hit, which sadly resulted in both deaths and injuries. The city's mayor acknowledged a tragic loss of life as emergency services worked to manage the aftermath of the incident.
Regional Governor Yuri Slyusar also confirmed the casualties among the crew and reported additional damage. In a related development, a high-rise under construction and two private homes nearby were damaged by the strike's impact.
