A fatal accident occurred in Maharashtra's Latur district when a speeding vehicle slammed into a bridge railing, igniting a fire and resulting in the death of a local teacher.
The incident happened at 11.25 am on the Ambajogai Ahmedpur highway. The deceased, identified as 50-year-old Madhav Shrivad, was a Zilla Parishad Primary School teacher who was driving the car when it lost control and collided with the bridge railing.
The impact caused the car to catch fire instantly. Fire brigade officials from Ahmedpur rushed to the scene but were unable to save Shrivad. The accident significantly disrupted traffic until police managed to restore order. An official probe into the incident has been launched by Kingaon police.
