The initiative aligns with the India-Sri Lanka Joint Statement's broader scope, encompassing rehabilitation projects bolstered by Indian grants, articulated during a summit between Dissanayake and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The president underscored a robust housing programme aimed at supporting both nationwide and war-displaced families, reinforcing the commitment to redress long-standing housing deficits.
