A gas pipeline rupture during construction work on Monday sent waves of panic through Cuttack's residents in the CDA area, police reported. The unexpected burst triggered emergency response efforts.
A critical incident occurred at Sector 9 of the CDA area, home to several former judges and advocates of the Orissa High Court, where an earthmover inadvertently struck an underground pipeline belonging to the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL). The subsequent gas leak heightened tensions among local residents.
Cuttack Additional Commissioner of Police, Ananya Awasthi, has confirmed the area has been sealed off. Fire services and GAIL's technical team are collaborating to restore the pipeline. Assurance has been given to the community that LPG supplies will soon resume post-repair.
