In a shocking sequence of events, Sydney faced three separate shark attacks on its beaches within just over 24 hours, according to police statements on Monday.
On Monday evening, a surfer in his 20s suffered a critical shark bite to his leg at North Steyne Beach. Earlier, a 12-year-old boy was gravely injured in both legs after jumping from Jump Rock near Shark Beach on Sunday. His friends, hailed as heroes, bravely rescued him from the attack.
Meanwhile, at Dee Why Beach, an 11-year-old boy's surfboard was attacked, although he remained uninjured. Local beaches near the incident sites have been closed, with bull sharks speculated to be behind the attacks, especially given the recent heavy rains contributing to murkier waters.
