A 14-year-old class 9 student was found dead in an open concrete sump at the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) site on Kanakapura road, police reported. The boy had been missing since January 28, prompting a search by authorities.
Officials suspect the boy accidentally fell into the sump, which was left uncovered while work was ongoing at the site. A foul odor led to the discovery of his body on Sunday, police added.
A case has been lodged at the Kaggalipura police station as investigations continue. The boy's family has demanded accountability and strict action against BWSSB, blaming the agency for their son's tragic death.
