The Delhi government is actively exploring the construction of a new bridge over the Yamuna River to address escalating traffic congestion in the city's eastern regions. This initiative comes as the Trans-Yamuna Board proposes either renovating the existing Loha Pul or constructing an entirely new structure.
Discussions with the Public Works Department are underway, with a senior official indicating that the plan is still in its formative stages. The focus is on enhancing connectivity in the Trans-Yamuna area and fostering better links between North East, North, and Central Delhi.
Anticipating increased congestion from the upcoming RRTS stations and trial section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway opening, officials are evaluating the project's feasibility. Particular attention is on the stretch from Old Wazirabad to Kalindi Kunj to assess traffic flow viability and infrastructure support.
