In an unfortunate incident on Thursday, four children aged between 10 and 13 years drowned in a water-filled pit near a construction site in Nanded, Maharashtra. The incident took place around 11.30 am near MGR Garden in the Degloor Naka area.
According to authorities, the civic body is in the process of constructing a drain, resulting in the formation of a 15-foot-deep pit where wastewater had accumulated. The children, all residents of Islampura, ventured to the location to play and unwittingly entered the water, unaware of its depth.
Police and local residents swiftly arrived at the scene upon hearing the children's cries. However, their efforts came too late to save the boys. The victims have been identified as Mohammad Adnan Mohammad Feroz (10), Mohammad Ali Mohammad Idris (13), Sayyed Irfan Sayyed Feroz (13), and Aayan Ibrahim Bagwan (11). As of now, no case has been registered.
