The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) is set to take down the Wagle ward committee office building, citing its dangerous condition. The 30-year-old structure is marked for demolition due to severe safety concerns.
The decision will be taken up for discussion in the upcoming TMC general body meeting scheduled for April 20. An estimated budget of Rs 15 to Rs 20 crore has been earmarked for the project, as disclosed by an official.
In light of the fragile state of the building, characterized by cracked columns and beams, an architect will be appointed for a new construction. In the meantime, the ward office will temporarily relocate to a facility at Kashish Park.
