A deadly windstorm hit Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, resulting in the collapse of a cold storage facility's roof. Officials reported that the incident took place at the Lassipora industrial estate, trapping five individuals under the wreckage.
Tragically, Sajad Ahmad Mir, a 40-year-old labourer, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The other four individuals injured in the collapse are currently receiving medical treatment, as shared by authorities.
Officials have noted that several areas within Kashmir experienced severe winds, leading to structural damages across the region. This incident highlights the urgent need for emergency preparedness and robust construction practices in the face of extreme weather events.
