Rain Brings Respite to Scorching Kashmir Heat

Intermittent rainfall brought Kashmir much-needed relief from oppressive heatwave conditions on Saturday, officials confirmed.

The downpour, starting overnight and lasting into the morning, cooled the summer capital Srinagar and surrounding plains, with reports of light snow at Zojila Pass.

The rains caused a significant drop in temperatures, officials said, marking a stark contrast to Friday's highs recorded in Srinagar. The Meteorological Department expects another spell of wet weather early next week.
