Smart Traffic Revolution: Dimapur Leads the Way

In a significant step to enhance urban mobility, Dimapur, one of Nagaland's largest cities, inaugurated a centralised traffic monitoring center on Thursday.
This initiative sees the installation of 14 CCTV and Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras at key congestion points. Aotula T Imchen, Commissioner of Police, noted that this project is aimed at easing traffic flow and cutting down air pollution from vehicle emissions.
Funded by the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, this venture under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) seeks public cooperation to optimize road safety and improve crime detection across Dimapur. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tinojongshi Chang highlighted the potential benefits in policing and traffic management.
