A tragic incident unfolded at Madhya Pradesh's Bargi Dam, where a leisure outing turned disastrous for Delhi-resident Sangeeta Kori and her family. The cruise boat they were aboard capsized suddenly during a storm, drawing attention to negligence and lack of preparedness.
The tragedy struck as the boat, carrying nearly 40 passengers including children without tickets, became vulnerable amid the storm at around 6 PM. Eyewitnesses, including Kori, reported that life jackets were not worn by passengers and were distributed only after water began flooding the boat, fueling panic and chaos.
Kori recounted the harrowing experience, pointing out the crew's inexperience and disregarded warnings from locals. Her accusations highlight a grave lapse in safety measures that could potentially have averted the disaster, which resulted in one confirmed death and two missing persons.
