The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has placed Delhi under a yellow alert for the next few hours, predicting rain, thunderstorms, and winds reaching speeds of up to 50 kmph. This cautionary announcement advises residents to stay informed on weather updates as the city navigates light rain recorded overnight.

Recent meteorological data showed Safdarjung logging 0.6 mm, Palam 0.7 mm, and Ridge at 0.6 mm of rainfall, while Lodi Road and Ayanagar registered only trace amounts. The IMD forecasts thunderstorms with rain on Monday, expecting temperatures to range between 25 and 37 degrees Celsius.

IMD officials have clarified that no heatwave conditions are likely in the next few days. They anticipate thunderstorm activity to persist with generally cloudy skies until May 6, followed by partly cloudy conditions until May 9.
