A lightning strike claimed the lives of 90 sheep in the upper reaches of Ganderbal district, Jammu and Kashmir, as reported on Monday by local officials.
The tragedy occurred on Sunday night in Poshkar, Kangan, affecting a family of nomadic shepherds who were en route with their livestock to the Sonamarg area for grazing.
In addition to the devastating loss of sheep, strong winds and intermittent rains caused significant damage to homes and crops across various areas of Kashmir on the same night.
