Showcasing India's Big Cat Conservation at IBCA Summit 2026

Ahead of the IBCA Summit 2026, India's environment ministry plans thematic events to highlight achievements in big cat conservation. These events, set in various states, will discuss conservation challenges, achievements, and collaborations related to India's tiger, Asiatic lion, leopard, snow leopard, and cheetah.

In preparation for the 2026 International Big Cat Alliance Summit, India's environment ministry is set to host a series of themed events aimed at highlighting the country's strides in conserving big cats. Officials announced these initiatives to emphasize key conservation achievements and further the summit's objectives.

Focusing on India's five indigenous big cat species—tiger, Asiatic lion, leopard, snow leopard, and cheetah—these events will delve into topics such as conservation challenges, successful collaborations, and efforts by the Indian government. The theme covers include India's Unique Conservation Success, and Restoring India's Grassland Ecosystems.

Scheduled to take place in various cities including Gir, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Gangtok, and Chandrapur, the pre-summit activities aim to spread awareness, boost stakeholder engagement, and underscore India's conservation triumphs, according to officials.
